Lessons

Through piano lessons, Lydia strives to encourage students to become creative, fulfilled, and dedicated individuals in music as well as in the many various aspects of their lives.

"My children, ages 14, 11 and 9, enjoy taking lessons with Lydia. This is our second year of lessons with her. She’s patient, kind and gears lessons toward their interests to make it fun but still challenging."     - Jenny B.

Essential elements of lesson include:

  • Interesting, exciting, and foundational pieces

  • Development of musical creativity through rote pieces and lively improvisations

  • Rhythm and sight-reading exercises to help the student to become a proficient reader

  • Illustrations, analogies, and a hands-on approach to aid in forming good technique

  • and more!

Lydia approaches lessons with a growth mindset that provides for a healthy environment in weekly, one-on-one instruction.  She has taught students from as young as four years old through those in their senior years, designing lessons to be age-appropriate, challenging, and fun.
